Natural Care for Menopausal & Crepey Skin
Nobody talks about why your skin is thinning.
You've probably spent a lot on creams that promised a fix. Here's what they leave out, and what a simple daily ritual can actually do.
It isn't a moisturizer problem.
Crepey, thinning skin during and after menopause starts with a drop in estrogen. Estrogen helps keep skin thick, firm, and hydrated, so when it falls, several things happen at once:
- Collagen declines. Skin can lose roughly 30% of its collagen in the first five years after menopause, and keeps losing it slowly after that.
- Elastin weakens. Skin loses its spring and starts to crinkle.
- Moisture drops. Less natural oil and water in the skin means a weaker moisture barrier. Dry skin looks and feels thinner.
- Skin gets more fragile. Blood flow slows and the outer layer thins, so skin bruises and tears more easily.
Sun exposure, smoking, poor sleep, high stress, and low protein or vitamin C can all add to it.
So what can a body oil do?
A natural oil can't replace the estrogen your body used to make, and we won't tell you it can. What it can do is the part that's within your reach: support your skin's moisture barrier, soften it, and help dry, thinning skin look and feel smoother and more comfortable.
That's the whole idea behind the I Think I'm In Love With Myself ritual. Not a miracle. A few intentional minutes, morning or night, where you look after the skin you're in.
The ritual, in three steps
Lather the body wash on your loofah to cleanse and gently exfoliate in one step, then nourish with the oil while your skin is still damp.
1. All-Natural Body Wash
A gentle, ECOCERT-certified soap base with a blend of pure essential oils. Squeeze a little onto your damp loofah and work it into a lather.
2. Premium Loofah
Smooth the lathered loofah over your skin in slow, gentle circles. It lightly sweeps away dry, dull surface skin so the oil can do its work. Thinning skin is delicate, so light pressure is all you need. Rinse, then pat dry, leaving skin slightly damp.
3. Sensual Body Oil
Three skin-loving oils plus pure essential oils:
- Sweet almond oil is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids. It softens and smooths, and absorbs easily.
- Coconut oil helps seal moisture in so skin stays comfortable longer.
- Jojoba is technically a liquid wax, not an oil. It closely resembles skin's own natural oils, so it moisturizes without feeling greasy and supports the moisture barrier.
- Pure essential oils add the scent that turns it into a moment, not a chore.

Questions we get asked
What's a good natural product for crepey skin during menopause?
Look for a nourishing body oil used on damp skin after a gentle wash. Our ritual kit pairs a body wash, a loofah, and a body oil made with sweet almond, coconut, and jojoba, and it's a favourite with our menopausal and postmenopausal customers.
Will this reverse thinning skin?
No. Thinning skin is driven mainly by hormonal changes, and a body oil can't reverse that. What it can do is help skin feel softer, smoother, and better moisturized.
How is this different from a regular lotion?
Lotions are mostly water and sit on the surface. This is a full ritual: a gentle cleanse, light exfoliation, and a plant-oil blend applied while skin is damp, which helps hold moisture in.
Is it natural?
Yes. Natural, aromatherapy-based ingredients throughout, created by Denise Sutherland, a Certified Aromatherapist.
